Fairview's Impact
Dear Fairview Faithful,
As we enter the Advent season, we have much to be grateful for as a church community. We’ve celebrated baptisms, new members, worship attendance growth, and an infectious generosity that has kept us on course in fulfilling our mission and vision. It's been a year of worshiping and praying together, serving our neighbors, nurturing multigenerational relationships, and growing closer to God.
I want to thank you for being a part of this church community and ask you to continue to remember Fairview UMC in your prayers and generosity this holiday season. Your commitment to our local and connectional ministries enables us to transform lives in our neighborhood, community, and the world.
This Thanksgiving, let us give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. As we look ahead to celebrate Christ's birth at Christmas, may we carry his light and love to others. Please consider an above-and-beyond, year-end gift to help us continue making Fairview a vibrant community of faith, hope, and service. Together we can live more fully into our values of being faithful, relational, inclusive, genuine, and service-oriented. You can include this extra gift with your normal giving or make a special gift now on at frontyardchurch.org/give and select “special gift.â€
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7
Your generous support allows us to worship God together through word, music, and sacrament, care for those in need, nurture our children, uplift the marginalized, reach out to our neighborhood, foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, grow together in small groups, and spread the gospel through missions locally and globally. As you plan your year-end giving, I invite you to prayerfully reflect on how Fairview UMC has touched your life and enabled you to make a difference. Please give as you are able so we can continue our work of serving God and others with open hearts, minds and doors.
We are also collecting end-of-year gifts of gratitude for our Pastor and staff. Our dedicated ministry team includes Pastor Nancy, Music Director Judy, and Children's Coordinator Rachel, along with behind-the-scenes Office Administrators Morgan and Richard, and Custodian Mandi. Give online or on Sunday and designate as “staff gifts.†The Leadership Board will designate the distributions fittingly.
I wish you and yours a holiday season filled with joy and the peace of Christ. May the spirit of this special time carry through into 2024 and beyond. Thank you for being part of the Fairview community - your presence, prayers, witness, service, and offerings are precious gifts as we fulfill our mission to transform the world by making disciples of Jesus Christ.
In Christ,

Ewell Lawson, Leadership Board Chair
