Kids Camp Team

The purpose of the Kids Camp Ministry Team is to plan and put on a week of Kids Camp during the summer – usually in July

A member of the Kids Camp Ministry Team can contribute in a variety of ways:

Spring and Summer leading up to Camp Week:
Attend weekly Kids Camp Meetings to plan and prepare
Assist with marketing and advertising for Kids Camp
Encourage Fairview Folks to donate snacks, sunscreen, meal ingredients, money for camper scholarships, etc.

During the Week of Camp:
Serve as a co-counselor 9 AM – 5 PM
Help with Early Care 7:30 – 9 AM
Help with Late Pick Up Care 5 – 5:45 PM
Assist with Youth Night
Host a Table during Family Night
Work in the Kitchen to prepare and/or serve breakfast, lunch, and snack
Be a floater and help where needed
Come after the kids have gone home to clean and reset for the next day

Available Positions for Camp

Co-counselor to work with the staff from Heartland directly with the kids. Need 4, I have a firm 2.5 🙂 9 am-4:30 pm shift.
Before Care 7:30 am – 9am, supervising outdoor play.
Breakfast – need 2, have 2.
After Care – 4:45 pm – 5:45 pm supervise indoor game area and outside play.
Lunch Coordinator – 10 am – 1 pm daily. Organize, prep and serve lunch. If you have volunteered in the past and there is a particular meal you are comfortable with and you would like to do just that day, that is good. If you are feeling called to tackle the whole week that is amazing.
Lunch Prep & Serve – 10 am – 1 pm – need 3 per day.
Lunch Clean Up – 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – need 2 per day
Story Time Readers – Daily at 12:30-1:30
Snack – 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm – put out snack on counter in Fellowship hall, supervise kids picking up snack, wipe down tables after.
Counselor Meals – There will be 5 counselors and we are asking either you host them at your house, bring a meal here, take them out somewhere, give them a gift certificate. Need Monday and Tuesday. Meal time start 6 – 6:30 pm negotiable with the counselors.
Youth Night Meal – This is the opportunity for junior counselors and other middle school youth to spend time with the counselors and use any equipment that is with the camp. This will be 10 – 12 people. Meal at 6.at the church.
Family Night Set Up – Set up tables and chairs for the meal help put out food.
Family Night Food Donations – Dinner will be at 5:30 pm. We served between 130-150 last year. We will want pulled pork, rolls, macaroni & cheese, applesauce, dessert.
Family Night Cleanup – Put away any leftover food, wipe down tables and chairs, put away excess table and chairs. sweep floor. 7-8.
