“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” -Zephaniah 3:17
My name is Marissa Carmichael. I am originally from Bloomington IL (go Cubs go) and came to Mizzou to receive my bachelors of Health Science. I plan to pursue my Masters of Counseling but am taking a break from school to enjoy life! I currently work part time at Lizzi and Rocco’s and am living my best life fulfilling my dream of hanging out with dogs all day. My husband and I (his name is Zach) got married April 27 of 2019 and are still enjoying the honeymoon phase!
Throughout college I was an intern for Crossing Kids as well as a high school small group leader where I developed a passion for youth group. Getting to spread God’s message to a younger generation and see the change it made was by far the greatest experience I had. I noticed how receptive teenagers were to Christ and how they have a large stake in creating a brighter future. Being apart of that journey to Christ that teenagers go through is the most powerful, wonderful feeling to me and that’s why I am here. My grandma introduced me to the verse above and it has become my favorite. To reflect on how absolutely amazing it is that the creator of this entire universe rejoices over me is just mind blowing. I cannot wait to share that overwhelming feeling of love Christ provides with our youth.
