Fairview United Methodist Church is a Safe Gatherings church. Every adult who works with children and youth must be Safe Gatherings Certified as well as covenant to uphold our church’s Safe Sanctuary Policy which includes rules for keeping children, youth, vulnerable adults, and the folks who work with them safe.
The vision of Safe Gatherings is a world in which all children, youth, and vulnerable adults are protected and feel safe.
The mission of Safe Gatherings is to screen and educate staff and volunteers to help prevent abuse of children, youth and vulnerable adults.
Safe Gatherings is a comprehensive system that incorporates an online application, online abuse prevention training, several levels of background checks, and paperless reference checks for people who volunteer or are employed with churches, schools, and organizations that serve or work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
